Querry on fettucine...?

Year,s ago i frequented a rustic italian tarverna ,who,s main dishes where just your basic pasta and soup dishes of italian origin occasionally you would get osso buco or fish...but usally the main meal was pasta.. the strangest thing always happend on sunday,s..they never served plain pasta like spagetti..or macaroni..but they would only serve fettucine always only on saunday..i asked once why is this so..and basicly the answer was that it,s traditional to serve fettucine on sunday is this correct? or a fabrication..? by the way the tarverna was owned by calabrese...
