Are there really any eyewitnesses to the 'jesus' story, or have scholars determined that the writers of?

the new testament were all writing long after the death of 'jesus' (27 AD, IF he existed at all), and were probably writing from oral recollections that had already been through many different retellings, fabrications, fictionalizations, and outright lies?
